Escape. Unwind. Explore
Hidden away in the heart of the historic Suffolk market town of Woodbridge, this light-filled Georgian apartment has been lovingly renovated to offer a stylish and serene place to escape.
Combining timeless Scandinavian design, tactile natural materials and thoughtfully sourced vintage finds alongside a calming palette, this is a place to unwind and enjoy a slower pace of life.
The two bedrooms have been created with rest and recuperation in mind. The master bedroom offers a Super-King-sized bed piled with beautiful linens and the comfort of quality bedding. A place to enjoy long lie-ins reading a good book by the light of the artisanal fluted bedside lamps.
Tongue and groove painted panelling gives a timeless feel in both the master and second double bedroom. Hand-crafted oak peg rails combine form and function alongside somewhere to hang your favourite holiday clothing, or a basket to fill with some of the many delicious local foods available within a short walk of the apartment.
A cleverly hidden utility room in one of the bedroom wardrobes allows you to wash and dry clothing during your stay. A beautiful Devol kitchen combines historic style, fitting to the period of the apartment, and modern design. A kitchen where you can choose to cook elaborate recipes using fresh Suffolk produce, or to simply order food from one of the excellent local restaurants.
An archway leads from the kitchen to the lounge and dining space, framing a pleasing view through to the carefully restored Georgian sash windows and beyond. A characterful curved wall is echoed in the marble topped dining table, around which you can share good food and conversation over long sunny breakfasts or candle lit suppers deep into the night.
A marble tiled bathroom blends modern and rustic to offer a tactile and calming place to enjoy an invigorating morning shower or a relaxing evening bath.
When you can bring yourself to leave the apartment, the many wonderful independent shops of Woodbridge beckon. Artisan bakeries, carefully curated homeware shops, vintage emporiums and stylish boutiques are all on your doorstep.
A short walk through the winding streets of the town lies the Riven Deben whose meandering path can be followed on foot along pretty towpaths alive with flora and fauna. Travel under sail, by train, bicycle or car to explore the beautiful county of Suffolk and all that it has to offer: beaches and marshes, forests and countryside, rivers and the sea.
Whether you return home each evening with salty hair and sandy toes, or bearing a basket bursting with local finds after a day exploring on foot, 12 New Street offers a truly special place in which we hope you will find both inspiration and calm.
